Kitchen respraying is another area that we cover. Often requiring updating this can be expensive, often to items that are still fit for purpose but just require a new lease of life.
So, our other passion in addition to restoring furniture is kitchen respraying, bringing back to life old and tired looking fitted furniture, to a finish and colour of your choice. This is achieved by a combination of professionally preparing and painting doors, cupboards and framing both on and offsite.
Our kitchen respraying service includes
Meeting every client for a free onsite consultation to discuss the items that require a spraying and to provide an opportunity to view our extensive colour charts and paint finishes.
Creation and provision of Colour Boards allow you to see the exact colour and finish that will be given. We understand that a small colour swatch from a paint chart isn’t often enough to give you a real feel, our colour boards enable you to see the exact colour in the varying lighting within the house which can change depending on the time of day and if it’s natural or artificial lighting.
With the mass of variety of shades and tones available it is not as easy as just requesting ‘a cream’ or ‘a grey’ and with the Colour Boards we can help guide you through the selection process and also to invite you to view other kitchen painting jobs we have finished for other clients. Again we understand that it can be a big commitment and it’s important to us that you get the colour that’s right for you.
During the consultation period we outline the process’ required and work involved with your specific kitchen painting project. It’s important that you know exactly what is being provided and that there are no hidden costs or nasty surprises!
The communication doesn’t stop here and from this point, if you decide to move forward, we confirm dates for the work to start, duration and completion. From initial visit to remove doors / drawers / and plinths, onsite painting of carcass and frames and return visit to refix the newly refinished doors and drawers etc.
We ask that clear access is given for each site visit and on site painting days for a couple of hours minimum per day.
Once removed doors, drawers etc are taken back to our workshops where they are stripped and deep cleaned in order to remove any build ups or residual surface material.
Where there is any existing damage that requires attention, the items are repaired and filled at this stage. To your requirements we can replace handles and cups as necessary to ensure that your kitchen is fully functioning, working and looking like new.
Once cleaned and repaired, all surface areas for painting are then sanded and keyed creating a suitable surface for our primers to be applied to.
Our success is in preparation, when it comes to kitchen respraying, if you don’t create the correct sub base you will not achieve the like new finish.
Once all the items have been sufficiently prepared we apply a spray coat of primer / sealer and stain block, leave for 24hrs to set before further spraying three coats of Intelligent Eggshell paint in the colour and finish of your choice. One coat is applied daily to allow adequate drying time which all aids in overall durability.
The products we use are environmentally friendly, specifically designed for kitchen use and are wipe clean.
Spraying time frames
Dependant upon your needs and size of kitchen, most projects will take approximately one week, (Friday to Friday) as we always aim to return and reinstall the doors and draws the Friday after initial collection.
Optional add ons include; new hardware – handles and knobs, soft close, varnish / lacquer finish for added durability and protective vinyl dots to prevent doors from banging – a must where children are concerned!
